Sorry folks, someone asked me to repost this: here it is!

Enjoy!

Whoops--forgot this:

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Cliff and Cush can look forward to a complete meltdown, and with luck they will reconstitute themselves and regain use of their fingers for keystroking so they can tell us about the experience...

Warning: this one is not for the faint of heart (there is a vicious cut in the OO), BUT the overall experience will more than make up for the technological shortcomings...

I would cut and paste linkages to the shows, but some kind person will probably be able to do that if this note gets any responses, and I am just a screwup when it comes to doing that, but I will say this: the show is available here, at LMA, and at GDLive (currently up and running), and the one here has a smoother 'fix' to the cut (sounds like it was the original tape) but it is 'in' both versions...The LMA is a bit more complete, but still, a short, absolutely burning set.

Truly, my favorite OO; listen to Jerry sustain as they re-enter the OO from the drums--it is the finest, in my view. Dr F sings its praises in his LMA review, but does not give this OO the credit it deserves. Listen to just the first three minutes of the OO post drum solo and you will be fried.

Careful, the cut comes at the 2'55" post re-entry moment...

Thanks Cliff--knew you'd know what to do...and thanks for pasting Dr F's comments...I stand corrected: he does do the OO justice.

Excellent.

You are right about his one, Mr Tell--I hope that the lack of responses doesn't mean no one is taking the time to hear this show...they really have to...I like the older stuff, and though I like being a lurker as you all call me, I had to log in to say that this show is grate!

And while I am here, I will say that there are more girls around than you old guys know about but they may like to just read rather than interact personally.

Have fun grokin Mr Tell and Mr. Cliff--you older guys really know your early shows.

Well, thank you (!), Ms Saintly (I presume???). Now, if I have this right, you are both female and a fan of the early era, so please stick around! A flurry of lurker postings the past weeks has waned--ie, they came but like a birdsong subject, 'just flew off' after only a little while...

We, ahem, 'older guys' can use all the help we can get, so it would be great (grate! as you would say) if you stuck around to defend us when the drama returns (from searching on your few [!!] prior posts, that seems to get your attention)...hmmm, judging by your timing, maybe you are one of the posters that changed names to protect the innocent (whoever they are)?

Either way, whoever you are, and however often you decide to post, welcome.

Ha! Yeah, felt bad about the bump after someone asked about the show I am always going on about so I ducked out for a few days...suppose it just displaced some of the spam Diana was talking about...

I just noticed that, and if I come to it once more, it looks like 300...must be because I made an edit, and it moved back to the top earlier today...

Or, it could just be 68...

I can't believe it, Cliff; I have to check out for the weekend, but looked just now and it is going to go over 300. It must be that after 200 or so folks think it must be important, and start checking in...I will have to start posting about 68 more and more--makes you feel like you are getting some respect (even if the respect of assholes--can't be choosey in my shoes).

The only flaw with the shns at GDLive (still up and running, kids!) is that there is a drop out in DS at about the one minute mark, but all it requires is an increase in volume.

10-13 and 10-12 are simply the best.

Do yourself a favor, folks, and download the files from GDLive, plus Trader's Little Helper, and you will be able to enjoy this era no end. Buy 'Two from the Vault' and then download the shns (same source) for 12-29-68, and if you are not on the Bus by then, you must be under it...

i'm a 68 disciple for sure. only jesus is jerry. just finished the oct. 68 avalon shows that tell sent me. some of the greatest music western civilization ever produced. the elevens, dark stars, death don'ts cautions, feedbacks, stephens, just too fuckin much! and there is real symmetry there, how each song connects and flows in this era. i could easily stay with 68-70 for the rest of my life.

"...it's the Eleven Jam where things really get rolling and tumbling with some really focused interplay between Phil, Jerry and the drums. Then The Other One - wow, Jerry just blasts at you right out of the Drums like a fire engine with siren at full tilt!! They saved Other One until last for a reason, and it's obvious they're giving it all they've got. Then they bring you back to earth with a beautiful, well-jammed Cryptical.
The only thing wrong with this show is it's too short! But a classic you need for your 1968 collection. Crank it up.
cheers,"

Yes...I am completely gah-gah over this one. I think that the interplay between Jerry and keyboards (sometimes our man, PP but more often TC in this late 68 thru 69 period) during Bob's vocals are just fantastic.

I think that the August, Oct and Dec shows of 68 are just outstanding. Then, Jan, Feb, Mar and Apr of 69 continue the intensity. If you haven't listened to 4-5-69 lately, give it a serious listen (Arbuthnot loves it, as do I). Then, we go onto Nov of 69, and finally, Feb, May and Sept of 70. Who needs anything more? Okay, lets go on to Apr, Aug and Dec of 71. That set of months, from 68 (okay gotta throw in the Jan and Feb shows of 68) just provides about EVERYTHING I need from the boys...

This IS what it is: look up GROK in our dictionary, and they will give the example of Cush and W Tell and the degree to which they were conjoined as all you need to know with respect to this term...
